Dharmavaram is a Mandal located in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. It is one of 63 Mandals of Anantapur district. There are 13 villages and 1 town in Dharmavaram Mandal. The  Dharmavaram city is known for its handloom silk sarees. The city is renowned for cotton, silk weaving industries and leather puppets. So this city is called as "Silk City" of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr.Kethireddy Venkatarami Reddy headed Dharmavaram has almost 3 lakh population. Almost men and women population is equal. Mr.Kethireddy solved many major  issues which are present before 2009 to make entire Dharmavaram population happy and healthier.

From the above we can observe that Dharmavaram population increased from 14,703 in 1951 to 78,961 in 1991 registering a growth rate of 437 percent during the last four decades. In 1961 the town had a population of over 20,000 with a growth rate of about 39 percent. In 1971 and 1981 Dharmavaram increase rapid growth rates of 51 percent and 65 percent . Though in 1991 the growth rate Falldown to 55 percent, the town recorded an all time high growth in terms of raise in absolute increase of population of nearly 28,000 between 1981-91 decade.Nearly an estimated 60 percent of population in the town are from weavers caste who are mainly from Thogata and Padmasali sects 22%. Muslims constitute 7% to 8% percent of the population. Other important groups are Vaishyas, Balijas, Kammas and Reddys 23% .

As per the Census India 2011, Dharmavaram Mandal has 42,891 households, population of 1,72,479 of which 88,233 are males and 84,246 are females. The population of children between age 0-6 is 18,109 which is 10.5% of total population.The ratio of Dharmavaram Mandal is around 955 compared to 993 which is average of Andhra Pradesh state The literacy rate of Dharmavaram Mandal is 60.75% out of which 68.34% males are literate and 52.79% females are literate The total area of Dharmavaram is 374.81 with population density of 460 per Out of total population, 29.34% of population lives in Urban area and 70.66% lives in Rural area. There are 6.82% Scheduled Caste (SC) and 3.48% Scheduled Tribe (ST) of total population in Dharmavaram Mandal.
